MacBook Pro (14-inch, M4, 2024)
M4 doubles the base memory to 16 GB and adds a nano-texture option.
Overview
The M4 14-inch MacBook Pro raised the entry level in several ways. The M4 chip had a ten-core CPU and ten-core GPU, with 16 GB of unified memory as the base configuration and 512 GB of storage. Battery life reached up to 24 hours of video playback.
A 12-megapixel Center Stage camera with Desk View replaced the 1080p camera, and the display could be ordered with a nano-texture finish that reduces glare. The right side added a third Thunderbolt 4 port, enabling support for two external displays.
It shipped in Space Black and Silver, and the Space Gray color was dropped. The price held at 1,599 dollars.
Why it mattered
Lifted the base MacBook Pro to 16 GB of memory and made a better camera and screen options standard.
