Apple has begun inviting selected members of the media to an all-day product launch experience in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who shared the news on X. MacRumors relayed the report on October 15. Apple has not publicly announced the event or confirmed any of the products involved.

Gurman described the gathering as a launch experience for touchscreen MacBook Pros, a new iPad mini and Macs with M6 chips. That points to a hands-on format rather than a traditional live-streamed keynote, a shift that fits his earlier reporting that Apple would introduce the devices on or around Tuesday, October 27 with an online video presentation, followed by in-person access for press and creators.

Apple sent out invitations on August 26 for its September event, scheduled for Wednesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific time. The tagline on the invitation was "Surprise and shine."

Ahead of the event, 9to5Mac summarised what was widely expected. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max were reported to keep the size and basic design of their predecessors, with changes aimed at the display, camera and connectivity. Rumored details included a variable-aperture main camera, a smaller Dynamic Island and Apple's C2 modem.
