iPad Air 13-inch (M4)
The big Air steps up to M4 and 12 GB of memory.
Overview
The 13-inch iPad Air with M4 is a drop-in refresh of the 2025 model. The 2732 x 2048 Liquid Retina screen, aluminum body and landscape front camera are unchanged, so cases and keyboards for the older 13-inch Air still apply.
The real changes are inside. The M4 chip runs up to 30 percent faster than the M3, memory increases to 12 GB, and the new N1 wireless chip brings Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread. Cellular versions use Apple's C1X modem.
It begins at $799 for 128 GB and goes up to 1 TB for $1,299. The large battery, at roughly 36.6 Wh, supports about ten hours of mixed use, and the tablet works with Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C) and the 13-inch Magic Keyboard for iPad Air.
Why it mattered
Gives the large Air a Pro-class memory capacity and the latest wireless standards while holding the price.
