iPad Air 11-inch (M2)
An Air with M2 power, a landscape camera and Apple Pencil Pro.
Overview
With the 2024 refresh Apple split the Air into two sizes for the first time. The 11-inch model kept the proportions of the previous generation, while a new 13-inch version appeared for those who wanted a larger canvas. Both used the M2 chip, which Apple said was up to 50 percent faster than the M1 in the previous Air.
The front camera moved to the long edge so that video calls look natural when the tablet is used horizontally with a keyboard, and Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 improved wireless. It supported Apple Pencil Pro, with squeeze and barrel-roll gestures, and, with the 2025 keyboard refresh, the Magic Keyboard for iPad Air.
The display was the same 500-nit Liquid Retina panel as before, with the fully laminated, anti-reflective construction retained, and storage tiers reached up to 1 TB. The Air kept Touch ID in the top button.
Why it mattered
