Apple raises the MacBook Neo's U.S. education price to $649, cutting the student discount to $50, MacRumors reports
Apple has raised the U.S. education price of the MacBook Neo to $649, according to MacRumors, which spotted the change on Apple's education store. The previous student price was $599, so the education discount on the entry-level laptop has shrunk from $100 to $50.
The report describes a steady climb for the education price. The MacBook Neo launched in March 2026 at $499 for students. It moved to $599 in June, and it now sits at $649 after the latest adjustment, which MacRumors says appeared within the past week. Apple's standard U.S. price rose from $599 to $699 in June, so the gap between education and regular pricing is now $50.
