Three Apple TV series are set to wrap up their current runs in the first week of November, and Apple has not said whether any of them will return, according to a roundup from 9to5Mac.
The comedy Brothers, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, ends on November 4. The British comedy Small Prophets also finishes on November 4. The food docuseries Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars closes out on November 6, 9to5Mac says.
None of the three has been renewed or cancelled so far, the report notes, and its author says he hopes at least one renewal is announced in the coming days.
Of the group, Small Prophets looks the most likely to continue, according to 9to5Mac. The series holds a 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, and the outlet cites critics who have called it possibly the finest show to arrive on Apple's service this year. The BBC renewed it for a second season in September. However, 9to5Mac points out that it is not clear Apple holds the rights to future seasons, because the show is among the few Apple TV series licensed from a third party.
The report also mentions two other titles on the service. The crime thriller Nocturne, in which Stephen Graham plays a serial killer, has just premiered. The comedy Stick, with Owen Wilson and Rhea Seehorn, returns next week.
For subscribers, the service costs $14.99 per month, or less when bundled through Apple One, according to the report.
Apple generally announces renewals on its own schedule, and a series can be renewed or cancelled after its finale airs, so the fate of all three shows may remain open for some time. Cupertino News will follow any official word from Apple or the shows' producers.
