Sabih Khan was born in Moradabad, India. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and mechanical engineering at Tufts University and a master's degree in mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Before Apple he worked at GE Plastics, now part of SABIC, as an applications development engineer.

He joined Apple in 1995 and has spent three decades at the company, working on operations and relations with suppliers and manufacturing partners. In June 2019 he became senior vice president of operations reporting to Jeff Williams, who was the chief operating officer at the time.

On July 8, 2025, Apple announced that Khan would succeed Williams as COO. As chief operating officer he is responsible for Apple's supply chain, manufacturing and logistics worldwide. After Lisa Jackson's retirement, the environment and social initiatives teams were placed under him as well. He is part of the executive team under CEO John Ternus.

Khan is regarded as an operations specialist who works largely behind the scenes. His promotion in 2025 came at a time when Apple was adjusting its supply chain in response to trade tensions and tariffs, and it followed the announced retirement of Jeff Williams.
