Apple's first foldable iPhone is now on sale. In a newsroom post published on October 23, Apple said the iPhone Duo has arrived at Apple Store locations worldwide, calling it the first foldable iPhone.
According to Apple, senior executives joined staff to greet the first customers. John Ternus and Deirdre O'Brien welcomed shoppers at Apple Domain NORTHSIDE in Austin, Texas, while Greg Joswiak and Vanessa Trigub did the same at Apple Fifth Avenue in New York City. Apple's photo captions also point to launch-day moments at stores in London's Covent Garden, Mumbai's BKC and Shanghai's Jing'an.
Apple describes stores filled with customers, with team members offering hands-on demos and personalized shopping help. Shoppers can buy the iPhone Duo and the rest of the iPhone lineup in Apple Store locations, on apple.com and in the Apple Store app.
Buying and setup help
Apple says Specialists in stores can walk customers through Apple Trade In, Apple Upgrade monthly leasing, Apple Card Monthly Installments and carrier deals. A service called Personal Setup is offered to help people move their data to a new device.
The company also lists Today at Apple sessions tied to the launch, including "Say Hello to iPhone Duo" and "Tips: What's New in iOS 27 on iPhone."
What the announcement leaves out
Apple's post does not mention pricing, and it contains no direct executive quotes about the product. It also does not say how many units were available, a point that matters because, as we reported earlier today, Apple has warned that walk-in supply of the iPhone Duo will be limited in 14 countries and that pickup reservations are required in some of them.
For readers who have not yet picked one up, the launch comes alongside iOS 27.1, which Apple has released exclusively for the iPhone Duo, according to MacRumors. Other iPhone models are moving on to iOS 27.2.
Apple's announcement confirms that sales have started; details on stock levels and early demand will likely emerge from retailers and analysts in the coming days.
