Apple has installed oversized iPhone Duo displays at four of its stores to mark the device's launch on Friday, October 23, according to MacRumors.
Where they are
MacRumors reports the installations are at Apple Fifth Avenue in New York City, Apple Covent Garden in London, Apple BKC in India and Apple Jing'an in Shanghai. The outlet says it had spotted the structures earlier while they were still covered, and credits a reader tip for the New York location.
What they look like
Per the same report, the displays have mirrored finishes and glowing edges, and they show the iPhone Duo in several different positions that Apple refers to as "poses." The report says Apple CEO John Ternus shared a photo of the Jing'an display on his Weibo account on Thursday, which gave the first clear look at the design. MacRumors adds that Ternus is expected to be at Apple Fifth Avenue on launch day.
Walk-in availability
Apple has said its stores in the U.S. and select other countries will offer "limited" iPhone Duo availability to walk-in customers on launch day, according to MacRumors. Earlier coverage on this site noted that Apple limited launch-day sales to reservations in Japan and South Korea, and that U.S. orders are capped at two per customer, so supply at individual stores may vary.
The launch backdrop
Apple opened pre-orders for the iPhone Duo on October 16, and its newsroom post on the launch lists star white and night sky as the device colors. Accessories include an iPhone Duo Folio with an integrated kickstand and a two-part Case, both compatible with MagSafe and Qi2 25W charging. The post also lists Apple Upgrade, Apple Trade In, carrier credits and three free months of Apple One for eligible new and returning subscribers who buy the device.
Apple describes the iPhone Duo as a foldable with a 5.4-inch outer display and an inner display roughly 50 percent larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro Max, powered by the A20 Pro chip.
Apple has not published details about the store displays itself, so the specifics above come from MacRumors' reporting and the photo Ternus posted. Customers planning to visit a store on launch day can check availability in the Apple Store app.
