Alongside its new home hub, Apple has introduced a certified range of third-party smart home accessories under the name Apple Home Collection. According to Apple's newsroom announcement on October 13, the lineup covers cameras, a video doorbell, a smart lock and climate controls, all made by partners and designed to work with the Home app.
What is in the range
The security products come from LG. Apple lists a wired video doorbell at $249.95, a floodlight camera at $399.95, a plug-in outdoor camera at $299.95 and a plug-in indoor camera at $199.95, with the three outdoor items sold in the US, Canada and the UK. The doorbell uses two cameras, and its chime can sound through HomeView, HomePod or HomePod mini. Apple says the indoor camera tilts upward to watch the home and lowers again when the first household member comes back.
On the access side, an LG smart deadbolt is priced at $349.95 for the US and Canada. Apple says it can unlock as a person carrying a home key approaches, using Ultra Wideband, and also supports tap-to-unlock, a PIN pad and a hidden backup key slot. It is Matter compatible, supports the Aliro standard and works locally without an internet connection.
For climate control, Apple lists thermostats from both LG and Schneider Home at $199.95 each, plus matching room or temperature sensors at $39.95. Apple describes them as Matter compatible and suitable for do-it-yourself installation, with on-device wire detection. Small installation parts, such as C-wire power adapters and a trim plate, cost between $14.95 and $24.95.
Availability and fine print
Apple says the accessories will go on sale starting in December through apple.com, the Apple Store app and Apple Store locations. It adds that some further accessories will follow in early 2027 but did not name them. Camera video history requires an iCloud+ plan, which Apple says provides 10 days of event history. The company also says professional installation through ADT will be offered via Apple Retail in the US for an extra fee, though no price was given.
The announcement also repeats that HomeView, the new hub, is not for sale in the European Union. Apple says it is working with EU authorities to find a way forward.
Apple has not said whether more partners will join the Home Collection, or how the certification programme will work for brands that are not on this first list.
