iPhone 12 mini
All the iPhone 12 features in the smallest 5G phone from Apple.
Overview
For people who wanted a smaller phone but not an older one, the iPhone 12 mini was the answer. Its 5.4-inch OLED display packed 476 pixels per inch, the densest ever on an iPhone at that time, and the whole device was smaller and lighter than the iPhone 8.
Specs mirrored the iPhone 12: A14 Bionic chip, dual 12MP cameras with Night mode, 5G, Ceramic Shield and MagSafe. Only a few compromises came with the compact size, mainly a smaller battery that provided up to 15 hours of video playback and a lower peak charging speed for MagSafe.
It arrived three weeks after the iPhone 12, shipping in November alongside the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Reports suggested sales did not meet Apple's expectations, and the mini line was dropped after the iPhone 13 generation.
Why it mattered
It was the smallest modern iPhone, and the last small flagship Apple built before ending the mini line.
