Apple Watch Series 3

Series 3 looked almost identical to its predecessor, with a slightly red Digital Crown on the cellular version as the only giveaway. Inside, the S3 dual-core chip made Siri speak aloud for the first time and sped up app launches.

The headline feature was the cellular option. An embedded eSIM let the watch share the number of the iPhone, so users could leave the phone at home for a run and still receive calls, messages and streamed Apple Music.

A barometric altimeter added floors-climbed tracking, and the watch kept the 50-metre water rating introduced a year earlier. Apple kept Series 3 on sale for five years as its budget model, which made it one of the longest-lived watches in the lineup.
