Apple Vision Pro (M5)

Same headset, faster M5 chip and a more comfortable strap.

Available Apple M5 + R1 Dual micro-OLED Released Oct 22, 2025
Launch price from $3,499
Silver Aluminium and Glass

Overview

Vision Pro with M5 is a spec bump rather than a redesign. The headset body, micro-OLED displays and external battery design are unchanged, but the new chip with 10-core CPU and GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine drives noticeably smoother experiences.

Apple says the system can render about 10 percent more pixels, supports refresh rates up to 120 Hz and extends battery life slightly to about 2.5 hours of general use. Passthrough video looks smoother and wireless Mac Virtual Display became sharper.

A Dual Knit Band replaces the older band, adding a second strap and improved cushioning. The headset can also pair with AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4 through low-latency H2-to-H2 audio. With little hardware change in the first year, the M5 model shows Apple supporting the platform while a lighter successor stays in development.

Why it mattered

Kept the Vision Pro current with Apple's latest silicon and addressed the original comfort complaints.
