Apple has pulled the redesigned Health app from the latest iOS 27.2 developer beta, replacing it with a notice that the new features will arrive in a future update.

Apple seeded iOS 27.2 beta 4 to developers on Tuesday, October 13, with a public beta following later that day. According to MacRumors, testers who install the build now see a pop-up in the Health app saying the new app features will come in a future update. Data collected while using the redesigned app during the beta remains available in the Settings app, the outlet reports.

The overhaul had been part of iOS 27.2 since the first beta of the cycle, which arrived in September and, unusually, skipped iOS 27.1 entirely. Apple had previously indicated that the new Health app would not launch until late 2026, so the timing is not a complete surprise. Several outlets, including MacRumors and iThinkDiff, describe the change as a postponement rather than a cancellation. Apple has not published a reason, and its release notes do not discuss the change. No return date or software version has been given for the redesign.

The removal does not appear to put iOS 27.2 itself in doubt. MacRumors notes that Apple is expected to ship the update later in October, and that the HomePod mini 2, which is due on October 30, runs HomePod software 27.2 and so depends on the release. iOS 27.2 is also required for the new HomeView hub that Apple announced this week.

Other items that were part of earlier iOS 27.2 betas, such as expanded Siri AI language support, are not affected by this change as far as reports show. Developers and public beta testers should expect Apple to continue seeding builds before the final version reaches all iPhone users.

For anyone who installed the beta specifically to try the new Health experience, the practical expectation is that the existing interface will remain on the stable release for now. Apple has not said whether the redesign will return in a later beta of iOS 27.2 or wait for a subsequent point update.

Cupertino News will follow any further changes to the beta and the final release date once Apple confirms them.
