Apple has announced a sizable update to Apple Creator Studio, its subscription bundle of creative apps, adding built-in effects tools, image generation and a new generation of AI assistants. According to Apple, the update arrives on the App Store in November and is free for existing subscribers.

Video and image tools. Final Cut Pro and Motion are gaining built-in MotionVFX content, which Apple says brings effects, plug-ins, transitions, titles and templates into the apps, along with tools for rotoscoping, tracking and color grading. Final Cut Pro also gets a Content Hub with stock video, in-app image generation, a round trip to Pixelmator Pro, more keyframe easing options and 23 additional transcription languages. In Pixelmator Pro, a new Generate Fill feature lets users select part of an image and describe the edit they want in plain language, alongside Super Resolution upscaling.

Music. Logic Pro adopts the Liquid Glass design. On the Mac, it adds a beta intelligent assistant, a redesigned Browser that Apple says understands music, and an improved Stem Splitter that can separate drum parts.

Office apps. Keynote, Pages and Numbers receive beta assistants that work with the context of a document, using a mix of Apple's own models and OpenAI technology, according to Apple. The three apps also gain Model Context Protocol support on macOS 27, which lets external AI agents read, edit and automate actions in a document. Keynote adds support for the .keyx file format, and Freeform picks up text styles and background colors, with Pixelmator Pro editing and text-to-shape generation due in December.

Requirements and limits. The assistants are betas and are limited to U.S. English. The Logic Pro assistant needs macOS 27 on a Mac that supports Apple Intelligence, while the Keynote, Pages and Numbers assistants need a compatible device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27.

Pricing. New subscribers pay $12.99 per month or $129 per year in the U.S., with a one-month free trial; Apple also lists three free months with a qualifying Mac or iPad purchase, subject to eligibility. Education pricing is $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year for verified college students and educators, and Family Sharing covers up to six people. Apple will continue to sell the apps individually on the Mac App Store: Final Cut Pro at $299.99, Logic Pro at $199.99, and Pixelmator Pro, Motion and Compressor at $49.99 each, with MainStage at $29.99. Those one-time purchases will receive the new features in November as well. Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform remain free.
