iPad (7th generation)
A slightly larger 10.2-inch screen and the Smart Connector for $329.
Overview
Apple's 2019 entry-level iPad stretched the display from 9.7 to 10.2 inches while keeping the footprint close to the earlier model, thanks to a modest reduction in the bezels. Resolution rose to 2160 x 1620 pixels at the same 264 pixels per inch.
The A10 Fusion chip was carried over from the previous generation, and memory went up to 3 GB, which gave a smoother multitasking experience in iPadOS 13. This was the first iPad to ship with iPadOS, which brought home-screen widgets, multiple windows for the same app and mouse support through accessibility settings.
The Smart Connector on the edge enabled Apple's Smart Keyboard without Bluetooth pairing, an upgrade previously reserved for Pro models. It still had Touch ID, a Lightning port and first-generation Apple Pencil support.
